Wednesday, October 5, 2016: WHHS Annual College/Career Fair
6-8:30 p.m., WHHS gym
All grades are welcome, but seniors and their parents are especially encouraged to attend. College/career reps and counselors will be available to meet with students.




Wednesday, November 2, 2016: “Financial Aid Night”
7 p.m., WHHS

There will be a presentation by an expert consultant about FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). In addition, students may access studentaid.com, a reputable website for students and families which provides individual services and a college cost and planning guide.

Sign up with Mrs. Barnes in the School Counseling Office by Friday, Oct. 28.
There will be over 40 HBCUs, which will be providing application waivers, scholarship awards, and on-site admission (instant decisions for seniors). Students will be able to meet with admission counselors and attend college preparation workshops. They will also have an opportunity to hear from admission counselors and alumni about what college life is all about – hear from college admissions counselors about admissions requirements, hear from current students about what each unique school has to offer, and finally see a mid-day step and drumline show. Interested students MUST sign up via Naviance under the Colleges tab in order to receive a permission slip for attendance.
