On Wednesday, April 5th, all juniors will be taking the Connecticut SAT. This is also a regularly scheduled Early Dismissal day for teacher professional development activities. Testing in the State of Connecticut will look different again this year. In October, 2015, the State of Connecticut adopted the SAT as the state assessment for all juniors. The former Connecticut standardized test, the CAPT – Science, continues for sophomores. West Haven High School will be administering the Connecticut SAT to all juniors on Wednesday, April 5th and the CAPT – Science to sophomores throughout the month of April.
Juniors will be taking the Connecticut SAT (Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 7:30am – 11:50am. Students are asked to bring #2 pencils and a calculator (if they have one). All students in grades 9-11 should arrive to school and report to their assigned rooms by 7:25am. Seniors will be offered the opportunity to engage in a variety of Senior Experiences.

Sophomores will take the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) for Science beginning on April 6, 2017. All testing will take place on computers throughout the month of April.

To comply with federal and state statute, participation is required. Please note that both the CAPT – Science and the Connecticut SAT will adhere to all federal and state privacy laws, including but not limited to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
It is very important for all students in Grades 10 (CAPT) & 11 (SAT) come to school well-rested and prepared to do their best on their respective testing days.
