The History of Project Graduation

The Class of 1994, in association with PTSA, DECA and several local businesses, organized the first substance-free, all night, post-graduation celebration in West Haven, called Project Graduation “Blue & White . . . Up All Night!”  The event is a free activity for all graduating seniors at West Haven High School. This celebration would not be possible without the support of the West Haven Board of Education, the West Haven business community and our partnership with GHP of West Haven, which has supplied our spectacular commencement program since 1994.

It was a battle at first to change a decades-old tradition of partying in the parking lot of WHHS after graduation, however, we were successful and now we have a NEW TRADITION.

Last year was a huge success, with nearly 325 graduated seniors in attendance, a good time was had by all. Funds in excess of $30,000 will be needed this year for our substance-free, all night, post-graduation celebration to be successful.

The Class of 2017 and the Project Graduation 2017 Committee need your help.  Will you help us ensure a drug- and alcohol-free graduation night? Please consider becoming a financial sponsor.  Donations of merchandise or services for a door prize gift can be listed as well.  Each $50 donation will allow a senior to attend free of charge.
