West Haven High School is proud to provide a school-based health center to ensure that students have access to high-quality health care when they need it.
A school-based health center alleviates concerns about not having access health coverage, costly co-pays, qualifying for services, or being turned down. The high school-based health center provides health equity to all students to include primary care, mental health care, dental health, nutrition education, health education, wellness counseling, among other offerings. The easy access to health care means less time out of the classroom for students and reduced burden on working families to take time off to take their students to health care appointments.
To sign up for this service, a form must be completed and submitted on PowerSchool. Students do not have to agree to accept mental health care services and may solely complete the physical portion. Once submitted, students can access all services.
Here at West Haven High School, the shared vision is to improve student success through accessibility.

Last month on November 19th, the West Haven High School, School Counseling Department hosted their annual College Decision Day.
Six colleges participated in the event, yielding 47 college acceptances and over $700,000 in merit-based scholarships!
A special thanks to the local colleges who participated: Albertus Magnus College, Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, Southern Connecticut State University, The University of New Haven, and Western Connecticut State University.
The School Counseling Department is very proud of our seniors and looks forward to seeing all they will do in the future!

It's that time of the year!
Flu Season

As flu season approaches, West Haven High School students will not be feeling under the weather. Several students have joined together to create the #noflufortheblue campaign in encouraging students to receive the flu shot at their School Based Health Center. Pictured above are students taking advantage of this free resource right in school. Parents are required to sign off on the flu consent form and School Based Health Center form on the PowerSchool site.
