Ada Udaya, West Haven High School Class of 2010, returned to her alma mater today to speak to our female student athletes. Ada talked to the girls about her background, how she developed into a 16-time NCAA Division II All-American track star at the University of New Haven, and her life after high school and college.
Ada’s speech to the current WHHS student-athletes was inspiring and motivational. She preached the importance of finishing what you’ve started, and that anything is possible if you put in the work and have the belief that you can do it. Following the conclusion of her speech, she answered numerous questions from students.
The WHHS and UNH Hall of Fame honoree has a long list of accolades in both high school and college. At UNH, she was a 3-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association Athlete of the Year, a 2-time Northeast-10 Conference Track Athlete of the Year, and an East Region Track Athlete of the Year. She also set numerous school and conference records.
In addition to her athletic success, Ada thrived in the classroom and was named a two-time Academic All-American. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing at Yale University.
