West Haven High School recognized its top academic achievers from the 2024 graduating class with a gold cord ceremony on Tuesday, May 28th.
To receive a gold cord, students must have maintained a B average in honors classes in each of their 4 years. These gold cords symbolize their commitment to academic excellence and dedication to their future.
Additionally, junior Justin Woychowski was recognized for his performance in the National Merit Scholarship Program, and seniors Emma Cushing, Adonyahe Harrison, and Arturo Perez-Quintero were recognized as this year’s participants in the Igniting Talent internship program.
After the gold cords were distributed, WHHS alumni Levi Jordan presented the Coach Mac scholarship to senior Armani Reid. The funds for this scholarship were raised through the community alumni game that honored the life of legendary coach Ed McCarthy.
