West Haven High School’s Career Center welcomed the Yale School of Medicine Dermatology Interest Group / Skin of Color Working Group for an engaging “Skin Health and Careers” session, where a dermatologist and medical students led an interactive experience introducing students to dermatology and related health careers. The program focused on building awareness of common skin conditions, improving health literacy, and encouraging students to explore opportunities in specialized medical fields early in their academic journey 🧑⚕️
West Haven High School came together on Friday during the school day for the annual Mr. Westie competition, where ten students who truly represent West Haven took the stage in the auditorium, answering questions from their peers, showcasing talents like drumming, piano, singing, acting, athletics, and filmmaking, while bringing plenty of energy and humor to the crowd. Congratulations to Daniel Davis on being crowned this year’s Mr. Westie 👑🎤🏫
On Friday morning, West Haven High School hosted its annual SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) mock car crash, providing students with a sobering reminder of the life-altering consequences that can result from the choice to drive after drinking. Thank you to the student participants, the West Haven Police and Fire Departments, and the dedicated staff who helped coordinate and put together this powerful and important event 🚓
WHHS Band was celebrated today with a breakfast for its 200+ members, recognizing their outstanding recent accomplishments, including a fourth consecutive nomination for Best High School Marching Band and being named WTNH Fan Favorite Band. The Wellness Committee hosted an Easter Egg Hunt this past weekend at Haley School’s playground. Staff and their kids joined in on the fun, organized by Washington School teacher Bianca Whitaker with help from WHHS students and a special visit from the Easter Bunny 🐣🐰🌸
